The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the global body of professional accounting. It was founded in 1904. ACCA offers the globally recognized Chartered Certified Accountant qualification (ACCA or FCCA). ACCA has its head office in London and the principal administrative office in Glasgow. ACCA operates through 91 branch offices and centers. ACCA has a global network of over 8,500 Approved Employers providing employee development. To qualify as an ACCA member, you will need to complete:
exams - a minimum of five of 14 exams (nine are eligible for exemption*)
experience - record 36 months' experience in a relevant role
ethics- the Professional Ethics module.
ACCA exams are held twice a year, in June and December. There are 400 ACCA exam centers around the world. There are a total of 16 papers in all. The knowledge module of fundamentals level consists of three papers (F1-F3) and skills module has 6 papers (F4-F9). The Essentials module of the Professional level has 3 papers (P1-P3). The Options module of Professional level consists of four papers from which you can choose two papers relating to your professional interest.
Once you successfully pass the ACCA Examination and gain relevant work experience, you are designated with ACCA. With this prestigious designation, the professionals can work in any vertical of finance and business. Certified ACCAs can work at senior management positions as tax consultants, auditors etc. The organizations seek certified professionals who possess business skills to take care of their dynamic business requirements.
