FRM-Exam-2009-Discussion-Learning-2010

Now that the result for the FRM Exam 2009 is out, we are sure you would have a lot to say about your experiences (both good and bad!). Not that anything can be done about the exam for which the results are out, but definitely these experiences can go a long way in understanding, what should be done in future to crack the exams. Last year, we had conducted interviews of students clearing the exam to know their mantra of success and the interviews can be found here…

This year, we have been getting a lot of calls from the students and overall I must say that the results have been quite encouraging. The most common of all the learnings has been:

- To crack the exam, make sure that you apportion your time as per the weight of the topic. For example, too much time should not go into a single topic (Typically hypothesis testing/ baye’s theorem)
- There are some questions which are long and tough to crack. They should not bog you down… Keep moving is the mantra to success.
- Instead of reading through a lot of theory, do a lot of questions (and practice on last few years questions)! That really helps…

We are sure you would have found your own mantra to success and what to do, and what not to… to crack the exam…

We would be conducting similar interviews this year as well… in the meanwhile, we encourage you to share your experiences so that going forward people can benefit from it…

    Hi all,

    Thanks to Pristine Careers.

    I cleared the FRM exam.

It seems that there is no section wise cutoff this year. I am in fourth quartile in one of the sections.

I think if you are perfect in statistics you will be able to answer almost one fourth of the questions.

Next thing is you should able to understand the basic concepts of CDS and sensitizations.

Regarding Operational risk if you read BASEL reading its more than enough.

    One again thanks Pristine!
