Remarketing is a clever way to connect with visitors to your website who may not have made an immediate purchase or enquiry. It allows you to position targeted ads in front of a defined audience that had previously visited your website - as they browse elsewhere around the internet.

Remarketing is a way to connect with visitors who made a visit to a website but didn’t finish any of your business oriented goals. Remarketing is the perfect way to reach out to specific segments of your audience. For example, you’re an ecommerce site that sells “n” number of different mobile phones. Some of your visitors visited your product page of iPhone 6 and bounce, while others may have visited your product page of Galaxy Note 4 and bounced.

Using remarketing you can display either text or banner ads with a discount on iPhone-6 to users who were interested in it or ads related to Galaxy Note 4 to those who were interested in it. This will help some of those people come back to your site and perhaps, make a sale.

How does Remarketing work?

The exact process varies from various service providers (google, fb, twitter etc.,) but the basic idea is same, using a cookie you keep track of the visitors to your site and more often, a portion of your traffic who visited a certain page or took a certain action on your website and then this cookie helps the relevant ad platform to serve ads to these users as specified by you.
