Pre Money and Post Money Valuation

Postby pradeeppdy » Sat Apr 05, 2014 7:22 am

Both Pre and post money are the means to measure valuations to the company . If the company is valued before it gets the funding or raising outside capital it is called the Pre money valuation. If the company is valued after it has raised the outside capital or fund raising by means of Debt or equity it is called the Post money valuation.

Simply put , The pre-money valuation of a company is simply the value of the company before an equity investment is made. The post-money valuation is the pre-money valuation plus the equity investment.
