Chartered Financial Analyst – CFA Level 1

CFA, Chartered Financial Analyst is the most respected and popular credential in the world of finance. The first step to earning the CFA Charter would be to clear all the three levels of CFA exam of which CFA Level 1 is the first Exam. In order to be eligible for CFA Level 1 exam, you must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. You can also write the exam if you are in the final year of your graduate study

CFA Level 1 Exam dates:

CFA Level 1 exam is conducted twice every year. Once on the first Saturday of June and second time in December. Initially CFA level was also offered only once in June. Owing to the huge response in 2000s, CFA Institute has decided to administer the exam twice a year, once in June and other in December.

CFA Level 1 Exam Syllabus:

The CFA Level Exam Syllabus consists of basic knowledge and comprehension questions focused on investment tools; some questions will require analysis.

The entire syllabus for CFA Level 1 exam is broken down into 10 topics and weightage is given to each of these topics. In order to study the syllabus effectively, one would need to make use of study notes for CFA Level 1

CFA Level 1 Exam Format:

CFA Level 1 exam is a paper based examination conducted across the globe in CFA authorized testing centers. The duration of the exam is 6 hours. Know in detail about the CFA Level 1 Exam format.

CFA Level 1 results:

The results for the CFA Level 1 exam are given in 60 days of writing the Examination to the candidate through email. The results for CFA Level 1 exam are given as either pass or fail with a score band. The answer sheets of the candidates are kept with the Institute.

CFA Level 1 pass rates:

When you hear someone talking about the CFA Level 1 pass rates, you would definitely hear them talking about how the pass rates for the CFA Level 1 exam have been increasing for the past few years.

The truth is that over the time, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of candidates writing the exam, and when looked together with the other levels, it is seen that despite increase in pass rates, there is no drastic increase in the actual number of students passing the level 1.
