CFA Exam registration procedure

The CFA program is a globally recognized, graduate level course that is focused on encompassing knowledge and skills to cater to the real world in analytics in investment, practical approach and portfolio management skills.

The CFA program comprises of three stages or levels. The three levels in CFA program are moulded to give a comprehensive foundation and knowledge required to excel in investment management and financial decision making. Each level is composed of a six hour exam. Completing the entire CFA Program is a difficult challenge and can extend from two to five years.

If you wish to enroll in the CFA program, then you have to complete CFA exam registration for the first exam. But before enrolling, you must make sure that you meet the minimum entrance requirements. The minimum CFA Charter requirement to enroll in a CFA program are:

  1. Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree

  • Or at the time of registration must be in the final year of the bachelor’s degree program.

  • Or should possess four years of professional work experience(not necessary that it should be investment related)

  • Or must have a combination of college experience and professional work, totalling to 4 years. Part-time positions are not considered. The four year total should complete prior to enrolment.

  1. Must understand the Candidate Responsibility Statement and Professional Conduct Statement.

  2. Must know English language. The exam is conducted in English language.

  3. Must have a valid international passport (The law prohibits residents of some countries to enrol for the program).

In order to complete the exam registration process, you must submit all the required information and documents such as education information, Professional Conduct Statement, candidate's electronic signature etc. and the required fees. You must complete your enrolment process in 30 days.

There are two components of CFA exam fees. The candidate is required to pay a one-time enrolment fee and a subsequent exam registration fee for each exam.

Program Enrollment Fee:

While registering for the first level CFA Program, the candidate has to pay a one-time enrollment fee. For the exam to be held in June 2015, the enrollment fee is US$ 450.

Exam Registration Fee:

The exam registration fee has to be paid only in US Dollars. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. A reduced fee is applicable if you register early. There is a late fee of registration if the standard registration deadline is over.

The candidates who initially enroll for the CFA exam in the final year of the bachelor’s degree program, have to complete their degree to register for the Level 2 exam or gain work experience that fulfils the program’s entry requirement.
