ACCA Course Duration:
- The ACCA course duration is a minimum of 2-3 years. A candidate has 7 years to clear all the 3 levels and obtain the required work experience.
- If a candidate doesn’t pass and reach the affiliate status within seven years the candidate will lose the Strategic Professional pass that is achieved after seven years.
- These will need to be re-taken in order to complete the qualification.
- Candidates can appear for the exams twice a year and sit for a maximum of four exams per attempt and a maximum of eight exams per year.
ACCA Course Eligibility
- The eligibility criteria for ACCA are very clear. The minimum qualification that is required to apply for the course is 10+2, I.e., 12th. To be eligible, the candidate should have completed 12th and have passed five subjects, including English and Mathematics/ Accounts, with 65% marks in at least two subjects and over 50% marks in others.
- Candidates pursuing graduation in Commerce, i.e., B. Com, BBA, BMS, etc, and BA/B.Sc. graduates from a recognized university (no marks restrictions) through the foundation in Accountancy course can also pursue the ACCA course.
- Candidates preparing for CPT, IPCC can also opt for the course as it provides advanced training, which will help them in shaping their accounting skills.
- Chartered Accountants can pursue the ACCA course as it will add more credibility and allow them to practice internationally.
- A candidate must have relevant work experience of 36 months to obtain the ACCA course Certificate.

- Knowledge Level

There are a few exemptions that are given to candidates based on their qualifications.
- The B. Com & M. Com students are exempted from all the three topics from the Knowledge Level and Corporate and Business Law (LW) from the Skills Level.
- Candidates who have done MBA in Finance are exempted from the Knowledge Level.
- Those who have cleared both the groups of CA IPCC are exempted from the Knowledge Level. Taxation (TX) and Audit and Assurance (AA) from the Skills Level are also exempted.
- Candidates who have cleared CA/ICWA can directly go to the Strategic Professional Level. They are exempt from Knowledge and Skills Level.
- The candidates who have cleared US CPA are exempt from the Knowledge Level. Corporate and Business Law (LW), Performance Management (PM), Taxation (TX), Audit and Assurance (AA), Financial Management (FM) are the other topics that are exempted from the Skills Level.
