CFA Chartered Financial Analyst is the most respected and popular credential in the world of finance. The first step for earning the CFA Charter would be to clear all the three levels of CFA exam. Once you will clear the level 1 exam, next step would be the level 2 which deals mainly with asset valuation. You must be able to apply the tools and concepts emphasized in Level I to analyse and value investments, and should also have a thorough understanding of capital market theory and industry and company analysis.
The CFA level 2 Exam is offered once in a year, on first Saturday of June. The exam is available only in English language. The CFA level 2 exam is available across 180 test centre locations.
The CFA Level 2 Exam Syllabus consists of basic knowledge and comprehension questions focused on investment tools; some questions will require analysis.
The entire syllabus for CFA Level 2 exam is broken down into 10 topics and weightage is given to each of these topics. In order to study the syllabus effectively, one would need to make use of study notes for CFA Level 2
CFA Level 2 exam consist of total 20 item set questions, split in two sessions. The morning and evening sessions have 10 item set questions each. The duration of the exam is 6 hours. Know in detail about the CFA Level 1 Exam format.
The results for the CFA Level 2 exam are given in 60 days of writing the Examination to the candidate through email. The results for CFA Level 1 exam are given as either pass or fail with a score band. The answer sheets of the candidates are kept with the Institute.
When you hear someone talking about the CFA Level 2 pass rates you would definitelyhear them talking that the level of difficulty is supposed to increase at each level, but in the case of CFA we see that the pass rate is higher than the Level 1 exams. Although the pass rate has fallen really low since the olden times but one needs to compare the number of exam takers as well.
